Chris Phillips swapping laptop for his bicycle for the Palace 2 Palace event for Prince’s Trust, sponsored by Delta Airlines

From Buckingham Palace to Windsor Castle, via Silverstone GP circuit

On 9.05am on 7th October 2018, Chris Phillips and friends will be lining up at Buckingham Palace to take part in the 45-mile Palace 2 Palace bike ride in aid of the Princes Trust, sponsored by Delta Airlines.  

Chris, a highly experienced marketer and founder of Oliver Myles Marketing, will be swapping his social media accounts and laptop for his bicycle for the 45-mile route that finishes at Windsor Castle. As well as juggling the requirements of his clients, Chris set himself a number of objectives for 2018 to push himself.

This included continually refreshing his marketing skills, training to be a football coach, studying to be a referee and challenging himself to raise money for good causes through physical activity.

As part of his efforts to improve his fitness, Chris has been cycling to work with the aim to aid his physical and mental health, and now, the Palace 2 Palace. An avid cyclist in his youth, the car, in recent years, has taken precedence. Time to reverse the balance! So far, Chris has loved the experience and has been commended by the Princes Trust for exceeding his funding target by 245% (so far!).

“I’m enjoying the training and have completed a number of training rides for the 45 miles. I have cycled around the Silverstone GP track and have got on my bike as often as I can to prepare. 45 miles doesn’t sound like far when you’re used to travelling by car; it’s so much different on a bike! Travelling light and preparation will be essential.”

“The Princes Trust does an amazing job at empowering young people between the ages of 11-30 with creating a brighter future through education, training, jobs, and opportunities. I hope by doing my bit, younger people can be assisted to progress their dreams.”
