Paid search in Croydon

Google Ads Management for Croydon Businesses

Croydon has London's largest SME base and a town centre actively making room for new businesses. Whether you're already established or opening your doors here, we make Google Ads work towards the enquiries, bookings and sales that matter to you — not just more clicks.

16,000+

businesses across Croydon

A big market isn't one audience.

Retail, logistics, engineering, construction, financial services, nursing, education, insurance and media all have a place in Croydon's business base. It is also an office headquarters hub: Superdrug, HMRC, the Home Office and EDF Energy sit alongside smaller firms. That scale brings opportunity, but it makes a one-size-fits-all advertising plan especially wasteful.

A business selling to another business needs a very different search journey from one looking for local appointments or shop visits. We ask who you need to reach, what they are looking for and what happens after they click. Then we build the campaign around that answer, rather than assuming everyone searching in Croydon wants the same thing.

Google Keyword Planner shows genuine searches for “PPC agency Croydon” and “Google Ads agency Croydon”. That tells us businesses are looking for help locally; it does not tell us what any particular business can earn from ads. The answer comes from its offer, market and ability to turn interest into customers.

What we actually manage

Set the direction. Let the bidding learn.

Google's Smart Bidding now adjusts bids automatically at auction time. Performance Max can reach people across Google's channels. Manual keyword-by-keyword bid changes are no longer the centre of the job; the decisions around the automation are.

Choose an outcome worth paying for

An established Croydon SME may want qualified contract enquiries; a new town-centre business may need appointments or purchases while it builds a customer base. We agree on a useful conversion, realistic budget and service area before choosing between Search, Performance Max and other options. Performance Max is a tool, not a default setting for every account.

Reach the right market, not just a postcode

Croydon's connections make its customer catchment potentially much wider than the town centre. It is around 15 minutes from Central London and 15 minutes from Gatwick Airport, with over a million economically active people within a 30-minute commute. That does not mean every business should advertise to all of them. We set locations, exclusions and messaging to fit where you actually serve people.

Give the click a useful next step

Ads cannot rescue a page that leaves people guessing. We look at the offer, landing page speed, mobile experience and enquiry path together. Someone searching for a service should arrive at a page about that service, see why your business fits and know how to get in touch. A new premises deserves more than a generic homepage and a hopeful traffic target.

Feed back what became business

We configure and check conversion tracking for measurable calls, forms, bookings or sales, and review whether those actions represent good customers. Google's AI-driven bidding can then do the heavy lifting with meaningful signals. Where tracking is thin, we start carefully rather than pretending automation can invent reliable data. We keep reviewing search quality, budgets and results after launch.

Croydon's next chapter

The town centre is changing. The customer journey still matters.

Launched on 24 March 2026, “Croydon Means Business” is a £500,000 programme supporting businesses taking on vacant town-centre premises. It is funded through the Croydon Growth Zone, a council and Greater London Authority initiative that reinvests business rates into town-centre regeneration. A separate scheme offers 100% business rates relief for one year to new and existing businesses moving into the town centre.

Those measures can make opening or relocating more attractive, but they do not guarantee demand. A business moving in still needs to be found by people looking for what it sells; an existing firm still needs to make its offer clear as the centre changes around it. Paid search can help capture relevant intent at the right moment, provided the ads lead somewhere credible and the response can be measured.

For a launch, that could mean campaigns aligned with an opening date and a page that clearly says where to find you. For an established business, it might mean protecting a strong position in your core service while testing a new catchment. We would not prescribe either without looking at your economics and current customer pipeline first.

A real client example

What happens when the ad and the destination work together.

Quartz Projects is a South London construction business, not a Croydon town-centre client. This example shows our approach, not a prediction for your sector.

3+
New clients signed
In under 2 months

For Quartz Projects we built a website, improved its technical foundations and then added Google Ads to bring in high-intent traffic. The business signed more than three new clients within two months. That result belongs to that client and market; the transferable lesson is to make the destination and enquiry process as deliberate as the ad itself.

"Working with OM Marketing has changed the game for QUARTZ Projects! We've gone from word of mouth to a healthy & consistent pipeline of leads! Ones that we don't have to share with other construction companies like on Checkatrade or My Builder. Can't recommend them enough!"
Elias, Managing Director
Quartz Projects, South London
